Instructions for Installing & Uninstalling the Kantar Scope app

Android Install Process

1. Follow the Link to the Kantar Scope app on the Google Play Store and click Install and then Open

2. Once the app has opened, enter the login you have been provided. There is no need to enter a password

3. Once logged in you will see the Meter Activation survey, tap on it to begin

4. There are 4 steps to activate the meter, click on 1 to begin to read through the overview

5. Click on step 2 to allow the necessary App permissions

6. Next you need to download and enable the VPN. For Android version 11 and above there are additional steps required to save and install the VPN CA certificate

Android 11 and above - These steps can vary slightly by manufacturer:

6a. Download and save the certificate by clicking OK and then Save

6b. Click OK to Install the VPN CA Certificate

6c. You will be taken to your Security settings, scroll down to Advanced, More or Other settings (will vary by Manufacturer)

6d. Select Encryption & credentials (may be Other security settings on Samsung devices as can vary by Manufacturer)

6e. Select Install a Certificate (may be Install from device storage Samsung devices as can vary by Manufacturer)

6f. Select CA certificate

6g. An Android warning message will be displayed, click Install anyway to proceed with the installing the certificate. This is required for the meter app VPN to be successfully installed

6h. Click on the certificate.crt

6i. Return to the Meter activation survey in the app

6j. A check will be run to see if the certificate has installed successfully. If it has not you will be taken back a step and asked if you want to see the video again or view a written summary of the steps

7. Click OK on the VPN Connection request. A check will be done to check the connection is successful

8. Continue to enable the Accessibility permission. You will be taken to the Accessibility settings on your device, tap on Kantar Scope

9. Toggle the switch next to Kantar Scope. An Android warning may be displayed, click allow to continue enable Accessibility

10. Once enabled you will see the setting displayed as switched on. Please note you may need to toggle this off and back on if you receive a notification during the project

11. When all activations steps are complete the Meter Activation Survey will be submitted. A notification will be present to confirm the Kantar Scope service is running

12. You will see the Kantar Scope App on your device but there is no need to open it unless you receive a notification

Android Uninstall Process

1. Return to the home screen

2. Locate and launch ‘Settings’

3. When in the ‘Settings’ screen, choose ‘Apps’

4. Ensure the ‘Downloaded’ tab is selected

5. Select ‘Kantar Scope’ from the list

6. You should now see the ‘App Info’ screen

7. From here, select ‘Uninstall’

8. A dialog box appears, confirm you want to uninstall the application
